Jude news

From

❣️WE ARE CELEBRATING OVER HERE❣️
It is surely a different time in all of our lives, but hey, we've got something so very good to shout about.
May 5th, 2020, marked a major milestone in Jude's happy life. He knocked out 6 months of saying bye-bye to the feeding tube. Six months of regular food and drink.
THAT CALLS FOR A PARTY!

(By the way, we can barely believe it, but Facebook tells us that we just hit our 500th follower; many thanks to all of you for checking in, for taking time, and for being on the Jude's Joy team. We know it takes a village.)
Special appreciation to Ms. Pfaff, Jude's Kindergarten teacher. We think she has a lot of very special gifts; patience, compassion, creativity, flexibility and she helps us help Jude be a better learner❣️
Our hearts are full.

The above is a  posting on the Facebook page, Jude's Joy.
I write an update about Jude from time to time with help from his Mom & Dad.
Yesterday was a big day for Jude and family.
Jude has had a feeding tube for about 4 years, I'm guessing.  It got to be so routine, I hardly noticed.  It was constant concern for Mom & Dad and siblings, but Jude took wearing the backpack in stride.  When the empty beeper would sound, he would find someone in the know to help him disengage from the feeding machine.  Differentiation of liquids and solids was difficult for Jude, causing bout after bout of pneumonia.   Now, with therapy and time, he is eating and drinking regular food and drink without problems.
This kid defies all odds.

Life is good.
