Our cabin was saved by the skin of our teeth. More photos later.
The firemen foamed the building and saved it.

I was in Alma visiting Kris and Lora when I got the call about the fire near our cabin on Tuesday afternoon. Through the night, the 3 of us were glued to internet and broadcast coverage of the fire status.
When we finally gave up for the night, we were quite doubtful that our cabin would have survived.
We were reading about many structures being lost but significantly more being saved.
I did not understand that statement.
In fact, firemen SAVED many structures in the path of the fire by foaming the buildings.
Ours was one of the lucky ones.
At the intersection of Sand Road & Connors Meadow, about 1/4 mile from our cabin. |

Sand Road just West of our driveway to the cabin |
Fireline across the side of our property, maybe 25 feet from the cabin wall. |
Fire line across back of cabin, pretty close to a full propane tank! |
The Outhouse made a narrow escape, again because of the foaming |
The front of the cabin looks pretty good in this picture. |
The smoldering fire with our cabin in background. |
It is pretty amazing to see these photographs, taken by a DNR friend to whom we owe many thanks, as we felt much peace of mind once we saw these pictures.
I'm hoping to make a visit to the cabin this weekend to see it for myself.
