Ruby Anna on 3rd Base

Late Thursday afternoon I took a ride over to Luck to water the plants at Dad & Ev's grave and to see some middle school softball.

Great niece Ruby was #28 and she was playing 3rd base.  I usually sit close to the fence near 3rd base when taking photographs of baseball or softball, so that worked out nicely.

3rd basewoman, Ruby

2 hands, she listens to the coach.

That is a good feeling!

Keeping the ball on her.

At the cemetery, I was happy to see the Verbena and Geranium in bloom and looking sharp.

One of Ev's granddaughters had stopped to visit and planted a solar light of Iowa tractors.  Very cute.

I swung past the church too and saw the restored monument.  It looks great.
As little kids, this was a challenge to get on the first step and some brave adventurers managed to get to the second step as well.
Many Easter and Confirmation photos were taken in front of this monument.
It had started to crumble.
This weekend marks 150 years of the West Denmark Church.  It is ready for more selfies.

2023 Hearts & A Fawn

Every birthday card I send includes a Danish paper heart basket.  For the littles,   $5 is tucked in the heart; for the bigs, just a birthday greeting.

This year, I decided to number and sign my hearts.    I've already used 39 hearts this calendar year.

My design for 2023 birthdays is an Op-Art pattern.  I still use the heart-in-a-heart for sympathy cards.

I'm watching golf & baseball today,  and working on my inventory.  The crunch is on to whip up a few for the upcoming birthdays.

I set a reminder with Alexa to be sure I got busy with the hearts,  I guess she didn't hear me correctly.

❤️❤️❤️

This morning I got a photo from our trail cam that is mounted on the deck railng at our Sandcastle cabin.

What fun to see a fresh fawn with the mom.

I hope that they will not be camera shy.

Iris Love

My bridge friend,  Carolyne, who passed from Covid, gifted me a huge clump of Siberian Iris out of her garden about 5 or 6 years ago.  I busted that clump into 10 smaller clumps and planted them around the stump of an old birch tree.   My property borders the county road,  and the Iris patch ican be seen driving by.

They continue to spread and thrive.  I love them and always think of my good friend, Carolyne, whenever I see them there.
