The West Denmark Lutheran Church has held a 'family camp' for about 39 years or so. It is a gathering of folks who enjoy 3 days of crafts, singing, speakers on a variety of topics as well as coffee & good food. Dad and Ev have spent all 3 days at many of the activities, I dropped in for 2 afternoons. On Wednesday, a ceremony to thank the Ravenholt family for a renovation of the Dane School was a highlight.
A parade of folks walked from the Hall to the Dane School singing The Happy Wanderer. |
An old lazy susan unit that Dad made for our house on County Trunk N. It was salvaged during the deconstruction of that house and re-purposed here in the apartment under the Dane School. |
This Lazy Susan has held up very well. |
Some of the cabinets were also salvaged from the old house. The cabinets were built by my Dad's first cousin, Vagner Petersen, and hung in our house. |

It was good to see old friends and make some new acquaintances.
The renovation of this building is something that Dad has hoped for and to see it be a reality is quite a treat.
