Sandcastle Weekend

Last weekend, Kris, Lora & Anders and I went to the Sandcastle for the weekend.  The weather was beautiful and the leaves were at their peak color.
Anders had been to the Sandcastle last year, but he doesn't remember of course.  So this was a big adventure for him.
Big steps for a little guy, Mom helps.
Learning to maneuver the steps.
Where's Dad?
Off to find him.
Off running.
What's back here?
Dad?
There you are Dad!
Whatcha doin' Dad? Can I help?
Cabin life was mostly big fun for Anders.
But then, some sadness.
Mom understands.
A kiss makes it better.
Dad knows how to make a boy cackle.
Fly boy.

The leaves were very pretty, but nearing the end.

There are many oak trees in Douglas County and they were bright red.
Jet streams were everywhere.
Anders wanted to watch Dad make the pancakes.

His blanket is never too far away.

We added a screen door to the cabin.  Anders helped me put the hinges on.
Good thing he brought his tools along to the cabin.
Anders tightened the screws for me.

The screen door project is all done.  Later, Anders came back with his screwdriver and tightened the screws some more.
It was a great weekend at the Sandcastle.
