Owen is promoted

Luck Schools celebrated a traditional event last night, 8th Grade Promotion.  A tradition born in the early days of education when formal education ended after the 8th grade, now it is a celebration of the beginning of high school for these young women & men.

The program was lively and quick to be followed by a 7th & 8th grade dance in the commons area of the school.

Great nephew Owen was the tallest in his class, looking more like a high scholl senior than a soon to be freshman.  Owen has a GQ look, tall, trendy haircut and chiseled features.  He's a quiet young man, but through the storytelling of the speakers chosen by the students, I learned that he is also the class comedian.  Several silly stories were told about Owen, revealing a side of his personality not seen by most away from school.  It was clear that the teachers are enamored by him and his classmates love him.

Owen's Mom & Dad were joined by his 2 grandmother's, grandfather and 2 great aunts as we witnessed the beginning of the next 4 years for the class of 2026.

Following the ceremony, the 7th & 8th graders were gathering for a DJ hosted dance event.  The music was loud and rocking when I slipped out and headed for home.  The kids were standing off to the side, would they soon be dancing?  I'll have to ask Owen how that all went.

Congrats Owen!
👏👏👏
