I love being able to see my bird feeders from the living room. Many hours of enjoyment over the years. But lately, I have not been thrilled with how the whole deal looks.

The deck hand rail wasn't really enough support for the feeder pole brackets,
so I started planning a fix.
One trip to Menards for bargain lumber (pieces priced cheap and perfect for my needs) and a little more noodling and we have a fix.
Before and after photos are posted here. No big deal, but a better set up for me, the deck and hopefully the birds.

I also did some ant barrier application of Vaseline,
the ants had taken over the oriole jelly, yuck.
A little bit tidier 😁
