Frosty Ones

Thursday morning was a little foggy and a LOT frosty.  I enjoyed watching the sun hit the trees and then see the little snow storms as the frost fell off the branches.
I caught this chickadee after I heard his song.  I think spring is coming, the birds are singing again.
I am always fascinated by this heavy frost and the designs.  Pictures never do justice.
Reminds me of a salted pretzel.
Almost like fur, and as soon as the sun hits, gone.

This morning the yard looks like someone dropped a truckload of diamonds on the snow....I wish!!

Totally Random

A few photos today of totally unrelated items.

This squirrel looks like he is sitting at the dinner table.

I bought 2 orchids last week.  I like them so much and these are especially easy.  They are called Just Add Ice Orchids.   Watering is just 3 ice cubes per week, what can be easier or prettier.

The cats have aged into their lazy years.  Usually they are very affectionate with each other, and it's all fun and games until someone gets mad.  Once the ears go back, look out, the fight is on.

More Basketball

Sue Tolan from Luck takes some great action photos of the basketball games.  I am hoping to learn to do what she does, in the meantime, I am going to use 3 of her photos here.
So credit to Susan Tolan for these photographs.

Luck fans at the Unity game on Friday night.  Kyle and Ruby in the front row.  Wanda, Kris, Lois and Heather up a couple of rows and to the left.

Alec Mortel

Cole Mortel

The Mortel boys are great ball players, but even more important, they are very nice young men.  They always thank us for coming to their games and take great care to watch out for their young cousins.  I am starting to be able to tell them apart but they are so identical that I'm only for sure when they have their uniforms on!

Heading to St. Croix Falls tonight for a big game, Luck and SCF are the conference leaders.

Great Niece Emily - 9 years old

Happy 9th Birthday Emily!
Tomorrow is Emily's 9th birthday and today the family gathered for dinner at Aaron & Angie's to celebrate.  Grandma Lois made this snowman cake, quite a clever birthday cake and very yummy.
Emily got many very nice gifts for her birthday.

Cousin Elliana & Milena were happy to help hand the gifts to Emily and admire what she opened.
Emily is a very nice girl and growing up so fast.

Megan was snuggled in with her Grandma Chivers while Emily was opening gifts.
Heather and Stella were watching the gift opening and Stella was loving the Scotcheroo bar too.

Owen is so good at posing for photos.  When I showed him this picture after I took it, he was so happy that his cup was in the picture!

It was a very nice day in Luck and now home to watch the Super Bowl!

Coors Photo Fun

When I visited Out West a few weeks ago, I slipped into the brewery for happy hour one afternoon.  Due to security restrictions, the only way into the building is through the Guest Relations entrance which also meant a mandatory photo.  My friend Tammy Rockhold and I walked in together so had this fun photo.

Cool technology how they take the photo in front of a background that looks like the Brewhouse and it actually looks real.  Nice souvenir of a brewery visit and half price for employees and retirees, even sweeter!

A Happy Anniversary Wish

Today is the anniversary of both my best friend Rochelle and her husband Tom, and my niece Kaija and her husband Mike.

Tom and Roche have been married 10 years.  We will party hard when they hit 25 years, if we can only remember!

Kaija and Mike got married on a very very icy day in 2007.  I remember that my rental car thermometer was reading -13 degrees on the way to the wedding...in the afternoon.

Congratulations to all!  And here's to many more!
