So far, another really nice summer. Enough rain and enough sun, for me at least.
I'm on my 2nd bucket of strawberries, feeling the pressure to get this second one eaten up before they go bad. 💪🏼😃🍓

The berries are not as mighty as in other years. But, damn, they taste like heaven. |
My gardening has definitely gone full blown jungle style. Of course my poorly knee keeps me from spending much time maintaining, or weeding, or any of the other conventional growth control techniques.
So, here is a bit of what's growing in Rice Lake yard.
I don't look behind the garage as often as I should. This Hydrangea is back there showing off like crazy!
The little Hydrangea by the front door is looking pretty.
I think these purple, Creeping Bellflower, are considered invasive by the DNR. To remove, a person has to dig down at least 6 inches and several inches out to get the roots. They have found a safe haven here. 💜💜💜
The grape vine has made its way too the edge of the roof. It's that good or bad? TBD

The Hops are heading for the front door, just like an octupus 🐙 trying to escape an aquarium tank. I'll have to snip off some of these tendrils, they like to grab me as I walk by.
As always, I am pleased with the splash of color provided by the Verbena.

In my opinion, the perfect plant is Verbena. Blooms all summer, drought tolerant and the deer do not bother. 🏠🏘🏡 |
In other news, I'll be selling this house as soon as Kyle has an opening in one of his duplexes in Luck. SIL Lois will be moving into one of the units in August and I am on the list for the next time there is a vacancy.
I'm looking forward to making this leap.
I'm not expecting that to happen before next year, but one never knows. so I am slowly purging & planning.
